CONTACT LENSES
Contact lenses are also used for bandaging after surgery and cosmetically for colour change. They come as Rigid (hard) and Soft lenses with varying degrees of oxygen permeability. Both types correct myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia.

Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP)

Soft Lenses
RGP Lenses: Made from acrylate and fluorosilicone materials providing maximum oxygen permeability. Durable, suitable for all refractive corrections including high astigmatism, bifocals, post-surgery cases, and myopia control.
Soft Lenses: Water-absorbing plastic material, ideal for sports. Silicone-based lenses allow overnight continuous wear for up to a month. Available in toric, bifocal, daily/weekly/monthly disposable, extended wear, and cosmetic varieties.
All lenses accumulate deposits from proteins and lipids in the tear film. Soft lenses can be contaminated within 24 hours when not in use, making proper cleaning and replacement essential.

Replacement
Build-up of contaminants on contact lenses is inevitable from 3 months of use. The Frequent Replacement System uses daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly replacement lenses to reduce infections, improve oxygen delivery, enhance vision and comfort. Multipurpose solutions are used for cleaning and storage.
