He is the pioneer in Phacoemulsification in India and has been invited to perform and teach Phacoemulsification in various countries across the world.
He is a man who is constantly revolutionizing the field of eye care in India. He is a man with many talents who also wants to give back to the society and thus founded the Vision Foundation and Eye Bank to further this cause.

Ms. Uma Varman - Administration
Ms. Uma Varman, a professionally trained hospital administrator, is the soul behind Uma Eye Clinic, efficiently managing the facilities, Outpatient Clinic, Lasik Centre, Operating Theatre, Vision Foundation and the Eye Bank which are spread over different locations across Chennai.
Uma Eye Clinic has been voted among the best eye care facilities in the country by the Outlook Magazine for its efficient systems, processes and standards. The clinic is well known for its adoption of global best practices in eye care and has won several recognitions including the ISO 9001:2008 certifications.
Ms. Uma Varman, a multi-talented lady who single handedly manages the smooth running of the facility deserves the credit being the woman behind the man.
Dr. M .Chockalingam, M.B.B.S, D.O, D.N.B, FRCS (GLASGOW) PGDHM- Senior Consultant
He is a specialist in include IOL microsurgery, phacoemulsification, glaucoma, anterior segment imaging and diagnostics.
He has an MBBS from Stanley Medical College, an ophthalmology residency in Sankara Nethralaya with distinction, an FRCS from The Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow, UK and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Hospital Administration from IGNOU, New Delhi. He was the Head of the Department of Glaucoma and in charge of School of Optometry in Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital, Palakkad and an Associate Consultant in the Department of Glaucoma, Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore.
He is an authority on Glaucoma and has published articles in national and international journals, presented papers and given lectures on the subject at various national and international events. He is one of the contributors to the second South East Asian Glaucoma Interest Group's Global Consensus Guidelines in glaucoma published in 2008. He has also conducted various drug and clinical trials related to glaucoma. With an observership in glaucoma in National University Hospital Singapore and over seven years experience in teaching anterior segment and glaucoma and health related law and ethics he delivers a great level of expertise. He is a member of various professional bodies such as All India Ophthalmic Society, Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association, Glaucoma Society of India, South East Asia Glaucoma Interest Group and Chennai City Ophthalmic Association.
Dr R. Murugananth, M.B.B.S, M.S. Opthalmology - Ophthalmologist.
Dr. Murugananth is an ophthalmologist with very high skill levels. After an MBBS he completed his Masters in Ophthalmology at Sri Ramachandra University and has been rendering sterling medical services since then.
He is also a trained vocalist and has been singing professionally for films and advertisements. He is the lead vocalist of the band IV and has won second place in the SS Music voice hunt.

After ophthalmic training in Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, the largest eye hospital in the world, he worked at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Government Ophthalmic Hospital, Chennai. He then trained in England under Dr. Peter Watts and later under Dr. Arulmozhi Varman, both expert anterior segment surgeons specializing in phacoemulsification and refractive surgeries like LASIK, PRELEX.
